What I collect, why, and who else touches it. The short version: only what it takes to get you scones, and I never sell it.
Who I am
Sadie May Scones is a small bakery in Southern Oregon, run by me, Nathan Anglin, as Sadie May, LLC. If anything here raises a question, write to me at nathan@sadiemayscones.com or call (541) 897-8618.
What I collect
- When you sign up for news: your email, and your name if you give it. If a link from one of my posts brought you here, I note which one (say, Instagram), so I know what's working.
- When you order: your name, email and phone number, your delivery address and any delivery instructions, and what you ordered. For a gift, the recipient's name, address and your message.
- At a market: your email or phone number, only if you'd like a receipt or rewards points.
- Rewards: the points you've earned and spent.
- Payments: cards are handled by Stripe. I never see or store your full card number. I keep only the card's brand and last four digits, so I can tell you which card is on file.
- Phone calls: calls to (541) 897-8618 may be answered by Devon, my virtual assistant, and may be recorded and transcribed so your message reaches me right. Devon keeps a short note of your name and what your past calls were about, so you don't have to repeat yourself. Never your card, your address or anything else.
- Texts: only if you agree to get them: your number and that you said yes.
What I use it for
Baking and delivering your order, sending you the emails about it, keeping your rewards, answering your calls and messages, and The Scone Zone, my monthly email, only if you've joined it. I also keep the sales records Oregon and the IRS require.
Who else handles it
A few companies help me run the bakery. Each one gets only what its job needs:
- Stripe takes payments.
- Resend sends my emails.
- Supabase holds the bakery's database.
- Vercel runs this website.
- Twilio runs the phone line (and texts, once I offer them).
- Retell runs Devon, and the AI model Devon uses (from Anthropic) hears what's said on the call.
- Google (Gmail) is where email to me arrives.
- OpenStreetMap's free route services get a delivery stop's street address, never your name, so I can plan the driving route.
That's the whole list. I never sell your information, and I never share it with anyone for their own marketing. Phone numbers and texting permission are never shared with anyone for marketing.
How it's kept safe
Your name, contact details and addresses are stored encrypted. Only I, and the systems that fill your order, can read them.
Your choices
- Leave The Scone Zone any time with the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every issue.
- Ask what I hold about you, ask me to fix it, or ask me to delete it: just email me. I will, except for the sales records the law says I have to keep.
- Your browser: this site remembers one thing for 30 days, which link brought you here, and it's kept on your own device. If you sign in to see your rewards, you stay signed in on that device for 30 days. No ad trackers, no ad cookies.
